The Kiwanis Satellite “Next Gen” group is part of the Twin City Kiwanis (TCK) Club which was established in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1956. Kiwanis is a service organization that supports children. Our Theme is “Kids need Kiwanis”
We refer to the main part of our Club as the “Legacy Club.” The “Legacy Club” meets on Wednesdays for lunch at 11:45am-1pm at Centenary United Methodist Church. The Club is known for Pancake Day. Each year in February or March at the Benton Convention Center, the club serves pancakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner raising more than $40,000 for local charities supporting children.
The Satellite “Next Gen” group is another option for men and women in the Triad to participate in Kiwanis. The “Next Gen” group meets for breakfast in different locations at 7:30am on the 2nd Thursday of each month.
Satellite “Next Gen” is a smaller group, and while supportive of the efforts of the main club, provides a business focus for younger professionals. Our breakfast meetings feature a business speaker in a less formal setting, as well as on-site visits to a business where the owner will share their story and showcase the facility.
It is the goal of the Satellite “Next Gen” group to add value to the Kiwanis experience by creating networking opportunities for its members with the business community. The group offers one-on-one and group setting mentoring, as well as developing long-term business associations and friendships.
Satellite “Next Gen” members pay a reduced rate compared to the main club which includes the cost of becoming a Kiwanis International member. Each member pays for their own breakfast and $15 if they attend the main “Legacy Lunch” club.
