Twin City Kiwanis will flip more than 10,000 pancakes each year at the Pancake Jamboree! That’s more than 1,750,000 calories of just pancakes!

Last year, Twin City Kiwanis awarded more than $50,000 from the proceeds to local youth serving nonprofits.

The Origins

The event was established by the Twin City Kiwanis Club (TCK). While the club itself was chartered in 1956, the Pancake Jamboree began shortly thereafter as a way to engage the local community and raise funds for children’s charities. By 2017, the event celebrated its 60th anniversary, which places its founding year around 1957 or 1958.

A Community Landmark

For decades, the Jamboree has been a staple of downtown Winston-Salem, traditionally held at the Benton Convention Center. It is famous for its “all-you-can-eat” model, serving as a gathering spot for everyone from local business leaders and community leaders to college students and families.
